Rhodonite, like it's relative Rhodochrosite, derives its name from the Greek word for rose, rhodon. Found in fine granular aggregates, it sometimes has some natural "adularescence" or sparkly sheen. It is often found with patterns of black dendritic veins of manganese oxide providing beautiful contrast with the pink rose color, providing two distinctive forms, one a uniform pink and one with the black inclusions, both of which have their own unique beauty.
Folklore/Metaphysical Properties: Rhodonite, as with its cousin Rhodolite is a stone which aids in love in oneself and others; it is also a stone for relaxation and relieving tension, soothing the nervous system.
