This rare and beautiful stone has more names than any other I've encountered. Besides "Tiffany Stone", I've seen it referred to as Opalite, Bertrandite, Purple Opal, Ice Cream Opalite, Opal Fluorite and Opalized Fluorite (that I've encountered...). The last one is really the most accurate, as it is basically opalized fluorite found in nodules only in certain beryllium mines in western Utah (although I have also heard that it comes only from one specific mine -- the Brush Wellman beryllium mine near Delta, Utah). Composed of opalized fluorites with some quartz, dolomite, beryllium, manganese oxides and other minerals at times, it is extremely rare due to the fact that it is found in only the one location and 
it is only a by-product of beryllium mining, most of it being destroyed to extract the beryllium for use in missile nose cones and similar high-tech applications. All the technicality aside, this stone has luscious purples and combinations of colors such as pink, tan, and white, depending on the other minerals present in the nodules, its rarity being matched by its beauty.
Folklore/Metaphysical Properties: Not really able to find much lore or metaphysical information on this rare stone. I'll keep looking...
