Mohawkite

Hardness (Mohs): 3 - 3.5
Color: Metallic yellowish white to gold brown in white quartz matrix
Transparency: Opaque (In Translucent to Opaque Matrix)
Notable Occurrences: Michigan

Mohawkite, found in the Mohawk Mine in Keweenaw County, Michigan, is a combination of copper arsenates with nickel, cobalt, silver and iron with a very distinctive metallic sheen. The patterns of the metallic Mohawkite set off nicely within white quartz base stone for interesting patterns and contrast. Over time, the Mohawkite can tarnish and develop an irredescence.

Folklore/Metaphysical Properties: I'm not familiar with any properties for this rare stone.
